“Towards New Centennial” Collective Exhibition
Towards New Centennial

On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Mousa Dagh, and the 75th Anniversary of the foundation of Anjar, on the evening of Thursday, August 13, 2015, the Hamazkayin “Lucy Tutunjian” Art Gallery hosted a large crowd of Armenians, most of whom had come from the village of Anjar, to appreciate the artworks of 10 Anjarian artists from different generations.

Organized by the Hamazkayin’s Art Gallery, the collective exhibition titled “Towards New Centennial” is held under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Jack Choukhadarian, a proud Anjarian as well.

During the opening ceremony brief speeches from the organizers and the patron summarized the aim of this exhibition stating that these works of art and the crowd gathered here were a statement of survival and perseverance, prospering and growth, a statement of strong will and a devotion to life in the hearts of the Anjarians who have overcome all struggles not only to save their culture but also to enrich it, not only to survive but also to learn and grow. Today Anjarian writers, artists and ministers are well known not only in the Armenian communities but also elsewhere around the world.
