In his word, Mr. Hagop Havatian, director of the gallery, stated that art is what has gathered us at this exhibition; as well as the earnest need to help the needy. Nevertheless, what really brought us together is the respect and gratitude we feel toward the toil of an individual such as artist Lucy Tutunjian.

Havatian noted that we are gathered under the Patronage of “Jebid” (Smile) to be witnesses of the artworks, and to enjoy the creations that are the toil of a person who always welcome life’s good and bad with a smile.

He also stated that this exhibition is dedicated to a great individual, a man who has left a great impression on contemporary painting, artist Paul Guiragossian, the teacher of Lucy Tutunjian.

Havatian recited Baruyr Sevag’s “Mor Tserkere” (Mother’s hands) which he found to best describe the moment.

Havatian also stated that Mr. And Mrs. Garbis and Lucy Tutunjian’s endearment and encouragement toward the Armenian Culture and our values gives us great pleasure.

Lucy Tutunjian concluded the opening ceremony with her words. She said that for her, creativity and charity are life’s highest values. She wished success to “Jebid” on their charity work.
