Titled “Colors from Armenia,” the exhibition featured works with beautiful color combinations, reflecting various emotions and the existence of a unique art world.

The event is under the sponsorship of Mr. and Mrs. Hovig and Maral Kurkdjian.

The exhibition opened with a speech by Hagop Havatian, director of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery. Havatian highlighted Petrosyan’s distinctive talent, which is the continuation of the great talent of her father, sculptor Penig Petrosyan.

Havatian thanked Hovig and Maral Kurkdjian for their continuous support of the arts, and specifically for sponsoring this exhibition and helping to materialize this initiative.

Havatian said that Arev Petrosyan’s glass and mixed media creations are not only valued in Armenia, but also outside the country, spreading her talent and artistic work across the world. He added that such an exhibition in the Lebanese-Armenian community would undeniably leave a lasting mark.

Next, Mr. Vartan Atamian, first secretary at the Armenian Embassy in Lebanon, read the message of Armenia’s Minister of Culture Hasmig Boghosian on this occasion. The message praised Petrosyan’s talent and efforts of representing Armenian art with new and unique styles while at the same time staying true to its essence. In the end of the message, the minister wished Petrosyan continuous success.

Mr. Hovig Kurkdjian, the exhibition’s sponsor, spoke next, expressing his contentment with the energy, liveliness and harmonious integration of colors emanating from the exhibition. He concluded his speech by thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the exhibition.

At the end of the event, Arev Petrosyan addressed the audience, saying that her art and creations can convey her thoughts and feelings more vividly than her words. She expressed her happiness for being in such a warm and at the same time demanding environment as the Lebanese-Armenian community.

Petrosyan thanked artist Lucy Tutunjian who by supporting the establishment of such an art gallery has created the opportunity for various artists to come together, showing that art has no borders, language, nationality — it is unlimited, and it is the expression of beauty and grandeur. Petrosyan also thanked the organizers and sponsors for implementing such an initiative.

Petrosyan concluded her speech by donating a book about her father to the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery.

The exhibition runs until June 25.
