The opening of the exhibition of paintings by Lebanese-Armenian artist Krikor Agopian was held on April 14, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., at the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery.

The exhibition was titled “52 Years of Evolution.”

After welcoming the attendees, Hagop Havatian, director of the Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery, said that Agopian has started his artistic work in Lebanon. Despite moving to Canada afterwards, he has never lost touch with his roots, and every year he exhibits a part of his creations in Lebanon.

Havatian said that this is the 52nd personal exhibition of Agopian, who has participated in more than 300 collective exhibitions over the years.

Havatian added that this is Agopian’s first exhibition taking place within an Armenian setting. “We expect that this first exhibition will constitute an important beginning, because the serious and responsible manner in which Agopian conducts his work leads us to view it with respect,” concluded Havatian.

Next, Agopian thanked all the attendees for coming to the exhibition opening.

The exhibition remains open till April 28, 2011, Mondays through Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
