The famous artist’s exhibition, titled “Nostalgia,” opened on October 20, 2011 and will run till November 7, 2011.
The welcome speech of the opening was given by Mary Tchoulouyan who said that the gallery is delighted to be hosting the exhibition of paintings by such a renowned and celebrated artist, adding that Hrair’s work is well-known not only in Lebanon, but also in the entire Middle East.
Next, Lola Beuyukian spoke in English on behalf of the Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery’s committee. She shed light on Hrair’s artistic style and the various aspects and meanings found in his artwork. She said that based on traditional and classic elements, Hrair has created his unique style of portraying scenery, humans and animals. Particularly, horses are a key presence in Hrair’s works; they represent graciousness, understanding and various values through which the artist attempts to leave his unique mark in his works. Beuyukian said that Hrair’s works include international, Mediterranean ad Armenian elements, emotions and portrayals. She added that Hrair’s works have their unique place in the palaces of royal and other high-ranking personalities.
Speaking at the event, Hrair said he is proud to be Armenian. He finally thanked all the attendees for their presence and wished that they enjoyed the exhibition.
